Tech Wiz is a game about exploring strange worlds and learning their magical powers.
You are a lost wizard from another world flying your spaceship through worlds, and you wake up lost, crash-landed on a mysterious world that looks like an artist's workshop, inhabited by strange paint droplet people. Through talking with the people and reading the signs, you must crack the mystery of the wireframe objects...
In the food world, you get to be the chef of a miniature kitchen in a soup cauldron! The saying in this world is that "Good cooking can take one to new heights"...
Controls
Move around with WASD and hold Shift to run. Press P to pause.
Read a sign or talk to an NPC with R. Click ESC to zoom out and close text windows.
Point your crosshairs at a terminal and press E to open a terminal window. Type in the correct keywords and press Enter to execute a command and unlock new spells. Press the spacebar to use one of your unlocked spells on an object that your crosshair is pointing at.

This game was created by Nellie Tonev, Matei Budiu, Russell Emerine, Yuan Meng, and Michael Stroucken for the Fall 2023 semester of 15-466/666: Computer Game Programming at Carnegie Mellon University.
The game was created using C++ and OpenGL, with assets modeled in Blender.

Install instructions
Download the zip file for the relevant operating system, unzip, and run the executable named 'game'. You may need to first make it an executable, which you can do with the terminal command 'chmod +x filepath_to_game'
(Note that this terminal command will have no effect in-game).
