Chibi Church Clash
A downloadable game for Windows
The succubus wants to get as many people as possible to fall in love with her through her irresistible eye contact. Meanwhile, the priest uses a book to give sermons and convert whoever he can. It’s a battle for control! Get more people in the church on your side than your opponent to win!
How to Play:
This is an ad-hoc networked multiplayer game for 2 players, meaning that it is played on 2 computers, with one person hosting a local server, which the other joins as a client. It is set up so that the host player will always be the succubus, and the client will always be the priest.
- To play the succubus: Either type in localhost or your IP address into the IP address field, and choose an open port number (e.g. 7777) for the port number field. On Windows, to get your IP address, type ipconfig into the command prompt. Click "Join as Succubus" and the succubus should appear on the home screen.
- To play the priest: Wait until the succubus has connected and then enter in the IP address of the succubus player's computer, along with the same port number. Click "Join as Priest," and now both players should see both the succubus and priest on screen.
The game will begin once both players click "Game start." There will be a 90-second round, and whichever player gets more NPCs under their influence in that time is the winner!
Succubus Controls:
The succubus was designed to be played with the Tobii Eye Tracker and an Xbox controller.
- If an Xbox controller is plugged in, use the left joystick to move and the right joystick to turn left or right.
- Otherwise, use W to move forward and A and D to turn left and right.
- If the Tobii Eye Tracker is connected, the succubus's eye cursor will follow where your eyes are looking on the screen.
- Otherwise, use a mouse to move the cursor.
- Use the eye cursor to make eye contact with the NPCs, and if the eye contact is held for enough time, they will fall in love and be in a "seduced" state.
Priest Controls:
The priest was designed to be played using a custom setup of a book created with a Phidget Touchstick and Phidget Touch Keypad.
- The single joystick is used to move the priest in the direction that the joystick is pointed. Otherwise, use the I/J/L buttons to move.
- The touch keypad is used to perform the preaching action. Start preaching with 0 when NPCs are in the priest's area of effect, then watch a sequence of symbols to press, then follow along on the touch keypad based on an image of a book with all the symbols mapped onto their buttons. The keyboard's 0-6 number keys can also work, but the layout is unintuitive (the bottom row reads 0, 1, 2, 3 left to right, while the top row reads 6, 5, 4 left to right).
- If the preaching symbols are entered correctly, all of the NPCs that were in range when preaching began will be in a "purified" state.
